Our food school immerses the diner and food enthusiast with a memorable experience of cooking and eating. All of our classes are led by Birmingham’s best chefs, home cooks, suppliers or producers.
Our aim is to be a place to learn all there is to know about food, not just how to cook. We are interested in food culture, food heritage and food politics. Our programme of Talking Food includes informal seminars and presentations by leading writers, producers and chefs, so look out for our programme. In 2018 we begin an exciting study into the food heritage of Digbeth where we are based.
Kitchen opened in 2014 at Jayne’s own kitchen in Edgbaston. In 2018 we open in Digbeth with our new programme of cookery masterclasses, artisan Fridays for cookery beginners and home crafts enthusiasts. We continue our Kid’s Kitchen on Saturdays. Our new class is called Taster Tuesdays where we will offer a taste of our other classes at a reduced price so you can give it a try.
We are a not for profit school. We plough any profit into work with schools, community groups and develop programmes with people who need our skills and experience to improve their diets. We are fund raising for a big project in 2018 working with homeless young people. How do you teach someone to cook who doesn’t have a kitchen?
