Budget & Basics – 4 (Meat)

This is a course for beginners who want to cook better on a budget and learn the basics to become good home cooks.

We will show you some basics that will get you started and can adapt for several kinds of meals and how one dish can be used in many different ways.

Each week we will highlight one area of cookery over 6 weeks but at the end of each evening you will have mastered at least one dish you can take home.

For week 4 we focus on meat cookery. We will look at 2 types of meat to prepare and cook. For this class we will be cutting meat and doing simple butchery. We will finish the session with doe delicious cuts of meat. The eat we use is organic and free range. Part of the course will cover welfare and respecting animals for meat.

For our Meat Cookery week, we will be teaching the following:

  1. How to debone a chicken
  2. How to fry chicken pieces – cuts of chicken for different dishes
  3. The Perfect Sunday Roast (Shoulder of Lamb)
  4. Gravy from the roasting tray
